Business Analyst  Ref #: BAE0621

Reports to: Director, Economic Research

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain an expert understanding of pharmacy client information requirements and associated business needs
  • Conduct proactive reviews of pharmacy market data and recognize quickly any relevant client business trends, issues and/or opportunities
  • Stay current with developments in the pharmacy business sector including business trends, government regulation, labour conditions and other factors that may affect decision making
  • Critically evaluate analytical results and provide a general interpretation of pertinent insights for client consumption
  • Develop and apply effective internal investigative processes, including the routine application of efficient data analysis and results documentation practices
  • Develop and apply knowledge of retail industry trends and benchmarks
  • Communicate effectively with internal resources to ensure timely project development, execution and completion in accordance with client expectations
  • Provide analytical support to team members assigned to various projects
  • Engage successfully in multiple simultaneous investigations
  • Work cooperatively with teammates and internal clients to identify new ideas and business opportunities with existing and potential pharmacy clients
  • Develop and maintain a current and historical understanding of Brogan Inc. databases
Education-Experience:
  • Degree in business, economics or related field
  • Minimum three years experience as an analyst, preferably in pharmacy retail industry or health care
  • Exceptional investigative, analytical and creativity skills with an emphasis on the ability to synthesize and derive meaning from a variety of information sources, ranging from summary reports to large complex data sets
  • Intermediate to advance skill in the use of office software (Excel, Access and Word)
  • Project management skills and ability to work in a consulting environment with changing priorities
  • Highly organized
  • Team-oriented skills, as well as ability to work independently as required
  • Excellent communication skills, written and oral

SAS Analyst / Programmer  Ref #: SAS0714

Reports to: Manager, Application/Product Support

Location: Kanata, Ontario

Description: The SAS Analyst/Programmer analyzes project requirements and creates reports to achieve the client’s requests.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze project requirements and feasibility
  • Follow project requirements in an efficient, accurate, and timely manner using SAS and/or SQL
  • Follow standard practices
  • Document code
  • Format results to meet client specifications
  • Maintain existing code
Qualifications:
  • Minimum one year SAS programming experience in SAS/Base, SAS/Macro, and SQL programming on a Windows platform
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills (English is essential)
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics or Economics or equivalent
  • Demonstrated adaptability and innovation
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, analytical, and planning skills
  • Demonstrated problem solving and creative ability
  • Knowledge and experience with large databases
  • Working knowledge of Excel and Access
  • Ad-hoc reporting experience with longitudinal data
  • Documentation skills
  • Project management skills and ability to work in a team environment with changing priorities
Background Pluses:
  • SAS certification is a definite plus
  • Experience in healthcare, pharmaceutical analysis
