'Data Filing' submissions are required by law. The Patented Medicine prices Review Board (PMPRB) requires that every company selling patented products in the Canadian market file its sales data semi-annually and its R&D expenditures annually.

Deadlines & Reguirements:

•  January 1st to June 30th sales data are required by July 30th
•  July 1st to December 31st sales data are required by January 30th

The number of units and net sales of each package size should be provided for all patented products, by province and class of customer [including free goods, discounts, rebates, etc].

In addition, international ex-factory list prices for all formulations sold in the seven countries monitored by the PMPRB should be submitted to the PMPRB.

R&D expenditures are required by February 28th. R&D expenditures are requested by capital and non-capital expenditures of the patentee. Other information such as type of R&D, who carries out the research, source of funds for R&D, etc. is also required.
