December 2008 CPI release
The CPI adjustment factors for 2008, based on the December CPI figure published today by Statistics Canada, are as follows:
- Introduced in 2007: 1.024 (higher than forecast)
- Introduced in 2006: 1.045 (higher than forecast)
- Introduced in 2005: 1.066 (higher than forecast)
The one year price cap for all patented medicines is: 1.036% (higher than forecast)
TheseCPI figures have not been confirmed by PMPRB.
When the actual CPI is higher than the forecast CPI the PMPRB will rely on the actual CPI, as is the case in 2008.
